In an age where most everything is made of plastics by heartless machines, I always get a thrill watching an artisan master create something of beauty by hand. Blacksmithing, for me, holds a special fascination because it combines so many things that I love: the rhythmic clanking of hammer against steel, playing with fire and watching the sparks fly, and creating something of beauty. I tried to capture a bit of that fascination for you in this piece.
