People with incredible talent in their field always amaze me, but musicians, especially so. They have the magical ability to manipulate one’s feelings; lifting you up one minute, and bringing you to tears the next. The particular musical talent portrayed here (Derrick Edmondson) has been mixing it up with some of the biggest names in music throughout his career. I have the honor of being able to say that I was there at the beginning when Derrick and I went to school together. Even then his talent was obvious. Today, I still love hearing his newest tracks on Instagram (Derriqjazz). I hope this painting lets you hear him with your eyes.
